The Society meets at 7.30 pm on the third Tuesday of each month from February to November at the Papatoetoe Hunters Corner Bowling Club, 247 Great South Road, Hunters Corner. Parking is available in the adjacent NZ Post carpark.
At the monthly meetings there is a guest speaker who talks on some aspect of local history. These meetings are open to the public so you are welcome to come along.
Trips to places of historical interest within metropolitan Auckland are also arranged.
Museum & Archives:
When the Papatoetoe Historical Society started in 1988 the most important activity was to gather as much of the district’s history as possible, before it was lost for ever. After 20 years we have collected a wide range of information and artefacts, all of which may be viewed at our museum which is open each Wednesday from 10 am to 12 noon, and the first Sunday in the month from 2-4pm. Other times by special arrangement for group tours.

The archives has photographs, books and booklets on many aspects of local history. Covering further afield are plans, posters, maps, and pictures of Auckland and other parts of New Zealand.
